Three words truly describe that place: Sea, sand, and slippers!

I actually came to post simple outfit at first, but seeing the title of this inspired me to “do more”. Because memoir is a pretty good word, isn’t it? Maybe reading “Memoirs of a Geisha” influenced me.. I don’t know. Fact is, I really can’t post just outfit photos under this title. A memoir of Hainan must include my favourite day of travel, Chinese food, people, and, of course, Telmen too!

This was our first proposed travel, which happened almost a year ago. The idea of going to a hot and warm place by the sea, Hainan Island was great for both of us who were then living separately in Japan and Mongolia. It was only an eight day trip, but I packed plenty of dresses and four high heels dreaming of a “chic me walking down the street”. Unfortunately, it didn’t take me a long time to realize there was really no place to walk in 5 inch heels. Three words truly describe that place: Sea, sand, and slippers. But the end of that trip, there was “this day”, we went to see a show in the theatre called “Romance” which gave me a chance to dress properly. In my memoir of  Hainan, I’m so happy to say it was my favourite day!

One more reason to call this a favourite day of travel? He proposed to me right after that evening. It was just the way I like it.  Only the two of us…

Oh, and don’t forget to pack tons of slippers in your bag if you’re planning to make your way to Hainan. Unless you want to buy some from those tropical markets in there 🙂
